This is a module of the MOOC developed within the scope of ESSENTIAL, an Erasmus+ KA2 project focused on news literacy and critical thinking. The main aim of this module is to explain the methods and tools that can be used to verify news and information, and its secondary goal is to guide instructors who want to use the module’s content. The module covers the steps of verification, visual and video verification methods and tools, verification of social media accounts, and identification of bots and trolls.
