Teacher's guide to cultural diversity: Swedish Analysis and reflection tools: North Sámi, Inari Sámi, Skolt Sámi, Swedish

Synopsis:

KuTiMat is a project funded by the Finnish National Board of Education to promote culturally aware teaching, school culture and teacher training in 2019-2020. The website (last updated in June 2021), contains materials, guides and tools for teachers related to cultural diversity. The website provides theoretical background to support teachers on religious awareness in the school environment, language awareness in the teaching context and gender and sexual orientation diversity in school culture. The site also provides analysis and reflection tools to support teachers in assessing the quality of diversity-related teaching materials and in evaluating and developing their own thinking and practice on issues related to cultural diversity. The site contains materials developed in the KuTiMat project for multidisciplinary learning, lesson plans, exercises for teachers, multireligious guidance and multireligious celebrations. The KuTiMat materials have been translated into various languages. A teacher’s guide to cultural diversity in basic education is available in Finnish and Swedish. A research-based analysis tool for evaluating teaching materials and a reflection tool for reflecting on values, beliefs and practices related to cultural diversity are available in Finnish, Swedish, North Sámi, Inari Sámi and Skolt Sámi.
